Participation: All active college students are eligible to compete. Must be able to prove current enrollment in a post-secondary institution. Team size is unlimited, but 3-5 team members are recommended. All team members must be eligible to participate.

Project Focus: Teams will be asked to focus projects in at least one (1) of three (3) key areas: 

  • Technology – leverages any form or tool of modern technology
  • Multimedia – advances value in form of media, multimedia or other entertainment value add
  • Fan Experience – enhances overall fan experience in a meaningful, cost-effective manner

Teams may submit any type of technology, multimedia, and/or fan experience idea - software, hardware, products, services, etc.

Intellectual Property Rights: Teams keep any and all intellectual property resulting from the competition; however, by submitting your project to Florida Citrus Sports (“FCS”) you agree to give FCS the right of first refusal to partner with you on the further development of your concept. 

Photo/Audio/Video and Publicity Rights: Team member names and likenesses (including photo, audio, and/or video or team members) will be captured in conjunction with this event and utilized to promote and/or broadcast the event. By participating in the event, you expressly authorize FCS to use such photo, audio, and/or video assets to promote and/or broadcast the event as well as to market and promote FCS and future FCS events. 

Winning Submissions and Prize Awards: Winners shall be selected by a panel of judges chosen by FCS and prizes shall be awarded at the discretion of FCS. Prizes are subject to change at any time.

Resources: FCS will provide limited basic office supplies, access to power, and WiFi during the event. Teams are expected to bring their own computers, software, development tools, and any other specific supplies or resources they may need to compete. Each team’s project must be its own original idea or the original idea of a team member, and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity. 

Project Eligibility: Both brand new and existing projects are eligible, so long as the project is original to at least one team member.

Additional Submissions: Teams may submit more than one project.

Code of Conduct: FCS pledges to create a safe environment for all team members. All competitors are asked to abide by the code of conduct listed at https://hackcodeofconduct.org/1148-florida_citrus_sports_collegiate_innovation_challenge. FCS staff will be on site to address every code of conduct issue raised, in a respectful way to all parties, using a transparent process. Violations of the Code of Conduct may subject a team member, or an entire team, to removal from the competition at FCS' sole discretion.
